The Creative Unit teamed up with Memorji.org to produce this 13-part Television series on the traditional Maltese festa. The series was broadcast on Net Television.
The team spent the best part of the summer of 2023 filming the traditional religious festivals in various towns and villages in Malta and Gozo, capturing the passion, dedication and hard work that goes into each event.
We filmed feast enthusiasts as they manufactured and let off Malta’s famous fireworks, those who take part in the processions and the people involved in ‘dressing’ up the town for these highly-anticipated events, which have now been recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
This series features captivating aerial footage of the colourful fireworks, which we filmed using our drones. At times, we got a bit too close, but the end result was definitely worth it.
